A Canadian Christian’s Experience of COVID-19
March 21, 2020
When whispers of sickness
Travel over the sea,
God is in control.
When friends visit China
And just manage to flee,
God is in control.
When the virus goes viral,
Changing whispers to a din,
God is in control.
When it comes to Canada
And worry creeps in,
God is in control.
When case numbers climb,
Then the province’s first,
God is in control.
When it’s inside the city
And you consider the worst,
God is in control.
When fear begins mounting
When schools shut down
When shelves are empty
In stores across town
When the calendar’s emptied
Work’s gone or changes form
When emergency’s declared
And isolation is the norm
When nothing is certain
But the love of our Lord
God is in control.
